Featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives...
Well, Thursday, no water. Friday, no electricity. Nothing better than dismantling your garage door opener by the light of a dim flashlight after the emergency disconnect breaks off, then the power comes back on literally 10 seconds later. Good to be back at work!
"This Week's Special Fare"
Soup of the Day
"How about making the New Castle Ale Beer Cheese Soup this week?" Mary Beth said. "Gosh, I don't know. Track down three different kinds of Cheese. Then there's the New Castle Ale, a couple of 6 packs isn't enough, a case is too much. Then what to do with the left over Beer?"...not buying this bit?...didn't thinks so. A blend of Cheeses highlighted by an extra sharp Cheddar, rich homemade Chicken Broth, a couple of bottles of New Castle Brown Ale and a shot or two of Tabasco Sauce.
And as always, we have our award-winning Tucker's Nantucket Clam Chowder loaded with Clams, Cream, Bacon and Butter...the best thing this side of Foxborough!
Daily Special
Our version of a Cuban Sandwich, the Daily Special for the week, features roast Indiana Pork Tenderloin, shaved Ham, Swiss Cheese and sliced Kosher Pickles, a little Chipotle Mayo and Dijon Mustard on a Cuban Roll then grilled and pressed to seal in all those wonderful flavors. The Sandwich is then finished with a quick rub of Garlic...I'm having one for lunch!
Our second Special offering this week, we're featuring our "Bark Lard" BLT as did Food Network's "Triple D"! Thick slices of our own in-house cured Bacon, fresh Lettuce and Jeff's homemade Tomato Jam and served with your choice of MB's Cole Slaw, Chips or a small Salad of organic Greens with a homemade Dijon Vinaigrette.
Entree Salads
Our Entree Salad this week, Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad...I really like this Salad! Fresh baby Arugula lightly dressed with a homemade Orange Vinaigrette, call me crazy (figure of speech) but it tastes like a "dreamsicle ", over a Sweet Onion Marmalade, our roasted Beets and finished with a whipped Goat Cheese and a sprinkling of crushed Pistachios.
"Not quite a wedge salad", the featured Entree Salad starts with split Romaine Lettuce garnished with fresh, ripe Avocado, Grapefruit segments, sweet and spicy Pecans and dried Cranberries, finished with crumbled Blue Cheese for a really nice combination of flavors and textures. Rob's homemade French Dressing adds the perfect compliment to the salad.
