Well, a few weeks ago on a Sunday morning after a long week, Maddie our Pit/Dal/Boxer/Lab mix and I were making our weekly walk out to the road to get our Sunday Paper which shall go nameless but it rhymes with Hindianapolis Scar, only to find that it was not there...which has happened on numerous occasions since becoming, and once again I will not mention the name but it rhymes with Bannett.

To make a long story short, Mary Beth after making several calls, getting transferred to their circulation office, which by the way is in Louisville?, being promised that a paper would arrive (it never did) and being offered a credit of...wait for it...22 cents for a paper that costs $1.75 (HUH?)!!! When she finally asked for the name and e mail address of the person in charge of Circulation and Deliveries, she was told...wait for it...that information could be found...IN THE PAPER!!! The drinking started promptly.

"Mary Beth's Fresh Baked Thanksgiving Pies"
Once again this year, Mary Beth is taking orders for her fresh baked pies, the perfect compliment to your Thanksgiving Feast! Her selection includes traditional Pumpkin Pie, Blueberry Pie and her Dad's favorite, Cherry Pie with a light flaky crust. All orders need to be received by Friday, November 21 and pre-payment always appreciated, and can be picked up on Wednesday, November 26th. "This Week's Special Fare"

Soups
With the chill and (choke) snow coming back this week, I'm in the mood for a rich brothy soup...Classic French Onion Soup should do the trick. Thinly sliced Onions caramelized to a deep brown, then deglazed with Red Wine and a little Sherry (thanks Sherry). Slow-simmered in a rich homemade Stock and finished topped with homemade Croutons, freshly grated Gruyere and a dusting of Parmigiano-Reggiano.

And as always, we have our award-winning Tucker's Nantucket Clam Chowder, made daily with sweet tender Clams, Cream and Butter and served with Vermont Oyster Crackers...always satisfying.

Daily Specials
Wow, looking back, I haven't made this since our days at the City market...Crispy Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. Fresh Chicken Breast nicely seasoned and breaded, fried to a crunchy golden brown served on buttered and toasted Rolls and finished with Jeff's Tomato Sauce, Provolone and freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano.

And as always, we're featuring our "Bark Lard" BLT as did Food Network's "Triple D"! Thick slices of our own in-house cured Bacon, fresh Lettuce and Jeff's homemade Tomato Jam. All sandwiches are served with your choice of MB's Cole Slaw or Chips and Overnight Pickles.

And lastly and certainly not least, Mary Beth's "Life's a Beach", features Goat Cheese, Red Onion, Tomato Jam, Avocado, Sprouts and Cucumber, served on buttered and toasted Multi-Grain Bread. Or if you prefer, for a little extra, add a couple slices of "Bark Lard".

Entree Salads
The first of our two Entree Salad offerings...Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad. Homemade Sweet Onion Marmalade sets the base for the Salad topped with fresh baby Arugula lightly dressed with a homemade Orange Vinaigrette, our roasted Beets and finished with whipped Capriole Goat Cheese and a sprinkling of crushed Pistachios.

And we also continue with our Barking Dog's "Tee Pee" Salad. That iconic Tee Pee Dressing tossed with Iceberg Lettuce and topped with julienned Beets and homemade Croutons served in wooden bowls...a true classic!

Mary Beth's Salad, our featured House Salad starts with organic Field Greens topped with fresh Oranges, Apples, dried Cranberries, Red Onion, spicy sweet Pecans and a dusting of Blue Cheese. A homemade Raspberry Vinaigrette and toasted Baguette are served on the side.
