Cooking with Dogs

Well, we've got a nice menu put together this week, so on to...

"This Week's Special Fare"

Soup of the Day
With an early Summer warm up on the way this week, feels like Gazpacho weather! Our cool and spicy Gazpacho, features an assortment of Peppers, Cucumber and Garlic with juicy Tomatoes, a little Lime Juice and a touch of heat at the finish and served topped with homemade Croutons.

And it's never too warm for a bowl of Tucker's Nantucket Clam Chowder enjoyed under the shade trees on the patio.

Daily Special
The Daily Special this week? Welsh Rarebit. We first had this dish when we went to Colonial Williamsburg on our honeymoon. Simple tavern food of toast topped with a creamy Cheddar Cheese Sauce fortified with Ale. (gotta love where this is going!) Ours is kicked up with the addition on Tomatoes and local Asparagus...although the addition of a little home cured bacon might be in order...can't hurt!

Our second Special offering this week, we're featuring our "Bark Lard" BLT as did Food Network's "Triple D"! Thick slices of our own in-house cured Bacon, fresh Lettuce and Jeff's homemade Tomato Jam.

Mary Beth's "Life' a Beach" Sandwich! Featuring Capriole Goat Cheese, Red Onion, roasted Tomatoes, Avocado, Cucumber and Sprouts served on buttered and toasted Multi-Grain Bread. Or if you prefer, for a little extra, add a couple slices of "Bark Lard". Both sandwiches are served with your choice of MB's Cole Slaw or Chips and Overnight Pickles.

Entree Salads
The first of our two Entree Salads this week takes a Thai twist. Thinly shredded Cabbage, Carrots, Peppers, Scallions and Spinach mixed with roasted Chicken and lightly tossed with a homemade Thai Vinaigrette. The Salad is finished with Peanuts and Cilantro leaves.

Mary Beth's Salad, our featured House Salad starts with organic Field Greens topped with fresh Oranges, Apples, dried Cranberries, Red Onion, spicy sweet Pecans and a dusting of Blue Cheese. A homemade Raspberry Vinaigrette and toasted Baguette are served on the side.
